New Learning: Composition
This art image on paper was created using pastels disks and a selection of sponges. What is truly marvellous about this beautiful artwork is its composition. The artist, who has dementia, responded heartily to the opportunity to explore novel art materials in the creation of an abstract image. When she was unsure about what to do next we would discuss the possibilities. This enabled her to make decisions that helped her move forward. Note the variety and placement of colour.
Artsoculus is currently working with residents at Rayoak Ravera, providing bi-weekly painting sessions that facilitate creative expression within a warm and engaging space.
Coming soon, a 6-session workshop series in printmaking sponsored by the Alzheimer's Society of Toronto. If you are interested in joining this creative exploration contact Romina Oliviero at the Alzheimer's Society of Toronto at 416-488-8772.
